Ok idiots, this is my first attempt at updating the roles in Madden 08. Thanks to Stingray68 for the MaddenAmp! I used Maddenamp to add my test roles to the streameddata file. That worked great. Then while using NZA, noted there were two empty N/A slots listed before the last role. In streameddata there are no N/A slots in the roles table. The last role in the table has role I'd of 43. My roles had id's 44 and 45. I switched the last roles I'd to 45. Then changed my roles id's to 43 and 44! Saved the streameddata, opened the franchise in db editor and changed 6 player role id's to match mine. Saved and opened Madden and these are the first results.
Works with:
Calhoupe Madden Scripts 1.69
Rogerjinx v14 roster and .franchise file.

Re: Madden Roles 18
These work in franchise mod. The last step is to find the other roles table where the role names are listed. Then they will be selectable in NZA editor!

NZA's list of roles may have been manually populated for 08 specifically. If that is the case, you will not be able to use NZA to select any value that wasn't already defined in the editor.
Also, you may want to sim ahead some years and make sure the players that aren't being assigned a role are still getting 45 (in 08) as the value.

OK, I guess I'm a little behind here. How did you edit a DB file in MaddenAmp?
It would help immensely sir, if you wrote it out in a step format. Like this:
1. In MaddenAmp, under the file menu, choose the Open option and then change the choice in the drop down menu above the open & cancel buttons to All Files and you will be able to see StreamedData.db. Choose it and click Open.
2. In the Tools drop down menu choose .........
I don't know what the steps are from there, sorry! You don't have to be that detailed, but that is the general idea.

This is a w-i-p for sure! I studied and have a degree from Work-Around U. Stingray68 I went ahead and created the third of the twelve roles to be added. Yep, it works also! Now I'm searching the DB for the other role icons to associate them with my updated roles. The work-Around to get them usable in NZA was after i created them in streameddata.db, load the franchise in db editor. In the Play table modify the PROL. For 1 player, assign the new role id. Save, then open the franchise NZA. There will be a new N/A role at the bottom of the list. That's your new role. Assigned to:

I'm not sure, I'm flying by the seat on this. What are you trying to do? The steps you listed are what i did to open the streameddata file. Then select the tab you want.

Not a problem at all. I was educated around the corner at the school of hard knocks, so I feel that I'm in good company. I just can't help thinking that I'm missing something on the front end of this conversation since all I get is an unhandled exception error pop up window when I try to go to the player editor under the Tools tab.

You have to open your 08 franchise (not roster) file with amp first, then under tools-options you can load in the StreamedData.db file properly.
Most of what he is doing involves using the dbeditor though.

So, if you edit the player table and add 6 or so new roles, NZA will have 6 new "N/A" roles in the editor's roles list? If so, interesting, but how do you keep track of them? Does it list the ID# of the role? (I don't use NZA for various reasons)

Thanks for the reply. All I get when I load my StramedData.db by way of the options menu is an option to add a college, and when I try to do that I get an Unhandled exception error.
I'm not very versed in MA, as you can tell. I've been contemplating just using MA, but need to know first if all the functions that you need are in MA or do you need NZA's as well for editing? If everything that I edit is available by just using MA I would rather have a one stop program to use.
