Do you want to start up a journal in the appropriate forum? I will certainly enjoy reading it.

Re: Jose21crisis' Classic (Player vs. AI) Sliders
I would certainly consider doing a journal. But it will most likely be a video type journal instead of a written journal. I'm consistently a better commentator than a writter. If I get some time maybe I'll try doing one. I'm discussing with myself if I should do it with Rogerjinx's 2017 roster and FF/FI or with the 2000 roster. I'll most likely do it using the 2017 roster, but we'll see.

Re: Jose21crisis' Classic (Player vs. AI) Sliders
Ok, now it is getting frustrating. I find that the CPU is simply inconsistent. At times they could be at the top of their game, at others they simply don't do anything. I guess this could be my fault partly, they seem to be unable to counter me calling Cover 3, which now I believe is OP. I could play on All-Madden, but I definitely prefer playing a more realistic AI than a mind reading AI, both play calling (they read the play) and in game (sticky DBs and DBs that can catch up with 100 speed Devin Hester), is simply not going to happen. I'm really considering either lower the Human sliders or raising the CPU sliders. Now I'm going to ask for some help, what do you think it could be improved.

Re: Jose21crisis' Classic (Player vs. AI) Sliders
I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with the sliders. I started a new franchise myself, coach mode, using your sliders, and I lost my first preseason game against the Eagles 23-7. I think it is a matter of realistic play calling. I became one dimensional due to a heavy pass rush. Don't use money plays all the time or the AI will learn to counter. (It really will over the course of the game) I won against the skins in week 2 through actually more conservative play calling on defense.

Re: Jose21crisis' Classic (Player vs. AI) Sliders
I think I came up with a slider set that gives the AI a bit more of a chance
The key here is QB Accuracy and Tackling. Higher Tackling prevents longer runs, which keeps the running game in check. And QB Accuracy alters both throwing accuracy and throwing power. With higher QB Accuracy, the defenders have less time to react to the ball.
Started another season (Was going to continue the one I had, but I accidentaly deleted it because I'm a dummy), and the sliders seemed to provide good performance.
I accept the CPU being bad with the Browns because they are pretty bad IRL, not going to lie.
I decided to do MaddenAmp's training camp before starting this season. I trained my DBs in catching and they came up clutch with 3 picks. The Browns tried to stage a 2nd half comeback, but fell short. Some of the things I'm noticing is that the punt avg for the CPU is a tad too short compared to my punt avg. Maybe raising CPU Punt Length can help.
My defensive play calling is usually on the man blitz or zone blitz. If I see the QB comfy in the pocket, I'll send a few blitzes his way. They eventually pick up the blitz, but by that time I start calling less blitz and dropping more guys in coverage. And the AI apparently can't keep up with that ... well ... at least the Browns AI Coach can't keep up.
For my Offensive play calling, I have my base formations (Singleback and Shotgun) and my situation specific formations (I, Weak I, Strong I, and the Empty sets). I usually call plays from the Singleback and Shotgun, leaning a bit more to running if I use Singleback and a bit more to passing if I use the Shotgun. If I need to burn time or I definitely need to run, I call for the I formations. I will occassionaly pass from those and will call PA passes, but I usually run. If I need some serious yardage, I call the Singleback - 4 WR Empty (A tight end for blocking is good) and the 5WR Empty sets from both Singleback and Shotugn. I WILL go for it on 4th down if it is 4th and inches, even if I'm leading, I need to keep that clock moving.
You'll be able to see my play calling when I do the journal. Specifically on Week 1, because I sim the preseason.

Re: Jose21crisis' Classic (Player vs. AI) Sliders
Next game was against the Vikings, and I decided to give the CPU sliders a boost. How much?
That much for Awareness and Knockdowns. I could have used 99 Awareness, but that is the exact same thing as playing on All-Madden, no separation at all. I had to raise Human Run Blocking because other wise my RBs would get destroyed the frame they get the football. And I think the problem is not the sliders, but rather, the problem is the AI. Why I believe so?
The way I see it, maybe there is some kind of coding that makes the CPU defense play less effectively on the 2nd half, maybe to simulate the defense getting tired. Al Michaels and John Madden said this was a matchup of teams with great defense, and it was true ... for the first quarter. Then my guys just started putting points on the board even with the 81 Awareness. They also said the game would be decided by a defensive play, say an interception return. Which, sure thing, happened. Sean Davis got a pick 6 that placed the game away giving us a 24 point lead.
So, I say that the problem is not my sliders, but the problem is the AI. They simply do what Peyton Manning did in the playoffs and fizzle out (He's still one of the greatest QBs of this generation). Maybe I subconsciously call plays that always beat the AI? Maybe they simply fizzle out when they hit the 2nd half? Don't know man. This keeps getting annoying.

Re: Jose21crisis' Classic (Player vs. AI) Sliders
So, I decided to go back to the original sliders. If you don't remember those, here's the memo
I lowered FG Length to see if anything changed and increased pass blocking to see if I can have a nice, secure pocket for about 3 secs instead of having to move around.
I simply can't get the AI to perform consistently. Against the Bears.
I decided to make every coach in every team have the same Off. Playbook, Def. Playbook and Defensive Scheme as the Head Coach.
This was with 12 min quarters. The QB AI performed very stupidly. I get that Trubisky is a rookie, but he did stupid stuff like throwing into double coverage (Which only turned into a pick late in the game, which means I need to raise the Interceptions slider) and thinking he is Russell Wilson or Cam Newton and trying to scramble. Which is nice in theory, but he did so scrambling TOWARDS THE BLITZING LBs AND D-LINEMEN. In one occassion, 4th down, I sent my linemen and 1 LB to smack the QB. He drops back, searches around ... then steps up in the pocket despite all the danger being right in his face, the LB didn't got around the pocket and neither did the linemen. My Nose Tackle promptly got around the Center and sacked him.
The game had potential, I started but Le'Veon fumbled the football. They got possession, drove to mid field and punted the ball. We drove, stalled and kicked an FG, then it got stupid from there. Their defense broke down, our offense destroyed them almost without opposition and their offense simply stalled. The cherry on top was late 2nd quarter punt. They weren't in field goal range, ok. They had a few ticks left, I get it. But why do you punt the ball on 2nd down? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? WHY DON'T YOU TRY TO GET A FEW MORE YARDS, CALL ONE OF YOUR TIMEOUTS AND THEN KICK AN FG? No idea. The AI is dumb. I really can't do much if the freaking AI will just crap the bed.
I think the best would be finding a way to give the CPU All-Madden AI level, but without the All-Madden BS like CPU DBs sticking to WRs like a magnet or getting speed boosts. Maybe a script could make this happen? Not sure. This is annoying me.

Re: Jose21crisis' Classic (Player vs. AI) Sliders
Again and again, I keep changing sliders, but this time, something different happened. So, here's the used set.
QB Accuracy, Pass Blocking and Run Blocking are increased by 10 for the CPU. I increased Pass and Run Blocking to see if I can get the AI to actually block, and it seems to be working. CPU Defensive awareness is on 81. With the Knockdowns on 99, they try to go for the knockdown a lot more often. Don't be deceived by the 20 in Ints for the player, I only got an User Interception in a test game, and a CPU Int during the game. Everything else is the same.
This onewas against the Ravens.
This game was pretty epic. It started with great defensive efforts from both teams in the 1st quarter, holding me to a FG and they got nothing, it was mostly an exchange of punts.
2nd quarter, we continue getting nothing but FGs. 2 min warning comes up, they strike first by having Mike Wallace outrun one of my defenders, and since I called Cover 1 and the FS was already occupied, he took it to the house. Then we drive down the field and get a TD. Flacco tried to get more points, but when only 30 secs reamining he went "Nah, not enough time" and ran out the clock.
Next one, we drive and get an FG. They punt, we get intercepted, then they drive and get the TD. We drive, then we punt and it ends up on the 3 yard line. They try a run to the outside, we bust that and get a safety. Then they kick it out of bounds. We drive down the field and get a FG.
4th quarter comes up. We drive and get another FG. Then they get the ball, I commit the same mistake, don't leave over the top help, my CB got 3rd degree burns thanks to Perriman, they get another TD. So now I'm trailing, so we drive down the field, get into the endzone ... and it gets taken down due to a penalty (I hate my Center). So we get back in on 3rd down. Now it's their turn. On the first play, Ryan Shazier comes up clutch and gets the Int. We try to get into the endzone ... but Le'Veon Bell fumbled the ball (I see some 2005 AFC Championship flashbacks here, except that we didn't have Jerome Bettis on this one.). They try to drive again, but they turn over the ball on downs, and that was the ball game.
They performed really well this time around. I hope the CPU can keep up.

Game Log Ends
------------------------------------------------------------
This game was pretty epic.

Re: Jose21crisis' Classic (Player vs. AI) Sliders
That was a close game, sounds quite fun. For your information I am using your original sliders playing coach mode, and its pretty good too!
