Competitive Sliders

I played this game with the cpu awareness set at 50. It was a good close game, but the cpu shanked a pat and on the kickoff the ball sailed out of bounds. Frustrating part of the game, doesn't seem to matter where the sliders are set. The game will favor the human controller.

KIT found the solution to limit shanked kickoffs and FG attempts. You need to adjust the Kicker's and Punter's AWR to something above 80. I adjusted mine based on real nfl rankings with the lowest AWR being 73 and the highest is 94. Ever since the league moved PAT's to the 15 yd line, it's kinda normal to see shanked PAT's now. So when they do happen in game, I don't mind as much. But KIT 's suggestion really made a huge difference across the board. Before my punters were averging 31-37 yds per punt. Now the average is 41-46 yds per punt and very few shanked kickoffs.

I also adjusted the Kickoff Length slider to 47 so there would be more runback attempts.

Yep, resetting AWR seems to be working. Will try a few more games.

No, no, no, thank KIT for that. What's odd about those low numbers is they are the attributes from Madden 22. They are correct, but don't translate well to M08.

This was a good close game. The cpu had a chance to win in the last 2:00, but chose to run the ball and play conservatively. The longer I play this game, the less I understand. Maybe, it's time to take control of the teams and adjust coach sliders.

Good close game. The Cpu should have won this game. The Bucs were dominating the defense. Twice in the redzone they fumbled the ball and Brady threw an interception. This leads me back to my original hypothesis- the game was designed to favor the human controller. The only other option is to play All Madden.
