I looked at the forums posts that Minotauri linked, not all of the details were included in the code examples, so that's not going to help us.
I tried the texture viewer thing and got similar results as BIT did.
BIT - can you post another tattoo file? Both the xbox and the pc equivalent, but something that the tattoo is bigger? Something that the tattoo uses more of the available 64x32 pixels.
What is happening is that the xbox tattoo image is being broken down into a grid like pattern. 64x32 is being broken down into 64 pieces that are 8x4 each and then each one of those is being re-encoded in a 2x2 pattern but linearly.

Ok, i now have a valid pattern for the 64x32 graphics. Confirmed it with your latest example. It may be possible to apply that pattern to other sized graphics, but I havent messed with anything else.
So eventually it may be possible to view/extract/edit the xbox MMAP graphics, like we are already able to for pc

I didn't have luck on the fan wall either. I also wasnt able to get a good graphic using Texture Explorer as well. The swizzle algorithm is definitely diff between PSP/PS2/Xbox. I think I got it kind of close with the PSP algorithm.. but I'm not a developer so I don't really know what I'm talking about either.

I haven't written anything yet to fix the graphic. Still need to verify how to get a pattern for different sizes.
Are there any 32x64 graphics that have a pc equivalent, or even a 64x64 ?

Ok. Grabbed these from uis_persona_images. Sometimes the xbox dat will have fewer files than a pc dat. Since I extract them based on their ID's, I can't guarantee that these files are 100% the same.
The good thing is that I found some 24x24 and 32x32 graphics in this dat. If you still want some of those, let me know.
