Yes I did put it in the game. The playbooks need to be extracted, they are not compressed so anyone who is familiar with playbooks should be able to take a quick look at them and tell right away if they are useful or not.

The DAT will not load in Madden 08. As the OP stated, the playbooks need to be extracted and imported individually. The DAT is not in Madden 08's format, so logically the game will crash when it can't find the playbooks it needs to run a game.
I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. But I, and 4/5 trained apes, prescribe lichtental's extremely useful USEFUL LINKS thread.

Here's an uncompressed playbook from NCAA 11 PS2. It loads up in game but the play art is messed up and some plays (probably option plays) are busted.

Excellent work.

What team does the playbook belong to? Also, when it is open in the Playbook Editor 1.2, the name of the plays are shown as "xxxxxxxxx". But, I will you that the names are just stored somewhere else in the data structure.

Is there any possibility that the same could be done on the defensive playbooks as well? I would love some the NCAA blitzes, coverages, and formations.

No clue who the playbook belongs to, can't find a database to sync up the teams and playbooks. NCAA 11 doesn't have the exact same structure as Madden, that's why the play art and play names don't show up in game. I'm sure you could do the same thing with defensive playbooks. There should be instructions around the playbook section of this site, Ben75 was the one who figured out how to do it.

Would it be possible to get and post more NCAA 11 PS2 playbooks, like the one above?

Granted, most plays does not work straigth away, but it has given some good insigths into ways of implementing screen and run blocking schemes.

A good handfull more would be really appriciated :)
