4 books in and he's already talking about defense??? They are coming, but I can't say when. But if the routes on defense are easy to create as the offensive routes, I should be able to motor through barring minimum issue! If you want to help let me know!
They are relatively simpler than offensive books (There's only 4 zones, plus man coverage) and a lot of plays repeat themselves (Like Cover 2, and Cover 2 Hard Flat, which would be the same thing on 08, the outside CBs on a flat zone). I think I could handle those ...
The Madden 20 defensive schemes and playbooks are deeper and more elaborate formations and zone looks than ever before. The plan I use for offense is, I make route trees/TAG first for each position, then import them into the plays. I'm gonna do that for the defenses as well! also found out that the yds a QB drops back dictates how long he holds the ball. I was testing my pass plays for Bills playbook. I noticed the QB holding the ball too long, no matter what pass I ran. I use the PBE to reduce the number of yds from 3.5 to 1.5, the QB threw the slants and quick hits like he's supposed to now.
The problem with trying to make the defensive playbooks is that you can to translate the about 14 types of zones Madden 20 has, to the 4 zones Madden 08 has, Flat Zone, Hook Zone, Curl Zone and Deep Zone (Which has a few variations. Cover 2 Deep, Cover 3 Deep and Cover 4 Deep). Due to this, some plays would repeat itself. What would be the difference between a "Tampa 2", a "Cover 2" and a "Cover 2 Hard Flat" in M08? Other than the fact that you could assign a Cover 3 Middle Deep Zone to the LB dropping back to cover the Middle of the field, they would be the same thing.
