No, I just I tweaked the code a little bit.

Make sure all controllers are in the middle position in the controller select screen.
Enable the code by pressing Ctrl+X
Then use the mouse to move the controllers to the same side
Disable the code by pressing Ctrl+X before starting a game

It's in the downloads section (6th and 7th from the top). Patch 2.0 doesn't work anymore, not sure if it's needed.
