Re: M20 Playbook Editor
This is looks very promising! I'm giving this a shot this weekend. Can I make/edit a route to be an option route? And can I edit option blocking schemes? Are Madden 19 playbooks compatible?

Yes, you can swap out routes or make a custom PSAL. Options are a bit complicated; use code 36 for option val1 is the default route, val2 is option 1 and val3 is option 2. The next step in the PSAL needs to be code 37, which is "option route extra info" and tells the receiver what route to run against different coverage. Refer to the playdesigner.db in Madden Legacy files from Frosty to get the values. Here are the updated vals (codes) for the option routes. Use these values in val1, val2 and/or val3 to create the tree.
code == 0 Curl left
code == 1 Curl right
code == 2 Post right
code == 3 Corner left
code == 5 Slant right
code == 6 Fade/Streak left
code == 7 Slant left
code == 8 Fade/Streak right
code == 9 In/Out right
code == 10 In/Out left
code == 11 Fade left
code == 12 Hitch left
code == 13 Hitch right
code == 15 180 Partial
code == 16 180 Partial
code == 17 Drag right
code == 18 Drag left
code == 19 Hitch right
code == 20 Hitch left
Option blocking is editable, you can swap out the blocking PSAL for each player. Or if you're referring to delay route, yes delay block is code 14 where val1 tells the player how long to block before starting his route.
Not sure if 19 playbooks are compatible, I know some things have changed so maybe not. The editor only works with custom playbooks. You can also save out Playart by right-clicking the Playart image in the editor, then use BFGE to import the Playart.
Good luck!

Re: M20 Playbook Editor
Thanks for this tool morphy!
I am wondering how to create the "option route blocking" scheme using the editor. Here is a snap shot of the "I Formation Pro - 94 Will" in M20. Notice the WR's option blocking logic.
Next is the snap shot of the 94 Will play inside the M20 PBE. The option blocking logic is missing from both WR's. I'd like to create option blocking schemes or even copy the option blocking into other plays!

Re: M20 Playbook Editor
I never debugged the code to draw that ARTL, but if you look at the PSAL, there isn't actually any logic for option blocking. It could be a in another variable like PLYT, but that looks normal too.
You can see the ARTL in the vs console. There is code to draw it, but the option logic is different than the WR option route which is designated by multiple #s in the ct column.
Test the Play Data and check the play in game playbook editor where you add plays or on field; it could be the PLF_ ID, SRMM or even hole # controlling it.

Re: M20 Playbook Editor
In the 94 Will play in Madden 20 and all run plays that use "Option Blocking Logic" the WR's have the option blocking based on the defense's coverage. The "straight line" shaded in light grey blocking is pure "run" blocking code and the angle blocking (white blocking line) is the "Lead Blocking" code. Both are present in many of the run plays of Madden 20! If the defense is in zone coverage the WR's follow the "run" blocking logic pattern. If the defense is in "man coverage" the WR's use the "lead" blocking logic pattern!
The option-blocking code is similar to the Option-Pass route code used by the WR's TE's & RB's. But it's one of the newer blocking twists Madden 20 had to offer! Like in a screen passes, play-actions or draw plays, linemen can pass block, then run block or vise versa depending on the scheme of the play! EA has given some of that logic to WR's in Madden 20!
I have used your M20 PBE to make my own pass option routes following your tips! I was hoping your code would allow me to add, create or even copy option blocking to more plays in the custom playbooks!
Thank you for your feed back!

Re: M20 Playbook Editor
Just want to add that @morphy's editor is the bee's knees. I love this thing. Been using it for defense and have recently been making PSALs that use a code 4 step of val1 "4" (for sideways starts) or "8" straight starts followed by a code 8 step (receiver route) for rushing defenders. Works better than the SRFT in my opinion which is a huge PITA specifically put in place by EA to "fix" their blocking woes. Designing pressure for defenders is fun again.

I know streamable deletes videos that haven't been viewed in like a month or so, so likely these links will expire, but in my humble opinion these are the best looking sacks/pressure in the game, more natural than the janky forced animations and suction blocks that are prevalent with the default SRFT-controlled blitzes. Instead of defenders running straight into to pre-determined gaps, and consequently directly into the predetermined blockers assigned to those gaps, these PSALs allow defenders to try to avoid blockers en route to the QB.

Re: M20 Playbook Editor
Do you know where I can find the new -from Madden 19 onwards- PSAL values for offense and defense?
What about the meaning an values of PLRR field in the PLYS table?

You need frosty to get the .db files. Go to the top menu Madden>Legacy and then open branches under databases to find playbooks and custom playbooks.
Team playbooks are individual db's. customplaybooks.db is bigger than any individual team playbook. The table you're looking for is PSLO for offense PSALs, PSLD for defensive PSALs. As far as defense goes, almost none (maybe none at all) of the PSALs for pass rushing/blitzing actually do anything in-game in M19 and newer. That is controlled by the SRFT table, which in my opinion is/was nothing but a cheap method for EA to fix blocking woes, as it forces defenders into predetermined gaps to be immediately met by predetermined blockers. Instead of using play designs and defensive line techniques to attempt to get to the quarterback, EA instead relies on break block timers after forcing initial blocking contact. Very lazy.
The codes in PSALs have changed from M08, for instance code 8 is receiver run route, 35 receiver turn head, etc. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TiC_zqTpr_KPj8m22fECYZVXJRNZPJNg8aLlAuXoI4k/edit#gid=0
I think PLRR is Player Route type. There is a list of them in Morphy's playbook editor.
