Not really. While upgrading a hard disk to an SSD will ALWAYS speed up the computer, video games are almost entirely reliant on video memory for their performance. Adding more standard RAM won't help much either, but it will make things like video processing, spreadsheet work, and web browsing a bit better.

If you have Windows installed on an HDD, the absolute best thing you can do for your overall performance is replace it with an SSD. However, that will only provide a small increase for video games.

Like I said, if you ever want to build a desktop, I'd love to provide advice. But gaming is going to be difficult on a laptop without a proper video card.

Well, I guess i'm happy I can run Fortnite. My computer is good overall, i'm ok with it. I guess it isn't worth it to pay over 2000 dollars just to play Madden 19 on PC.

One thing I do know is that it runs smoothly when I reduce the size of the window...but I really don't care about it anymore.

You can build a computer for far less than $2000 that can run Madden. Possibly even under $1000.

I know that, but I'd have to get them shipped to Jamaica....that's too much stress.

Everything in Jamaica is so expensive....like 3x the price of what the item is worth.

Fair point.

Turn off superfetch and prefetch. I have 128 VRAM and it worked for me

Also when you launch ctrl+shift+esc to bring up task manager
find the madden app in details and right click and set priority to high.

This is a couple things I do to get the game to run smoothly both on and offline.

You should have it set to the lowest possible video settings, all extras off such as voice chat and frame limit off and you should be fine.

Meh, i'll hold off from high end gaming for now. I'm ok with rolling with 08.

You don't need a top notch PC to play Madden 19. I'm running it on a 4 year old Dell XPS with an i7. I did have it built with 16GB of RAM at the time though. The only thing I had to change to get it ready for M19 was to upgrade my video card to a GTX 970 and a power supply to cover the higher demands of the card. Less than $300 bucks.

What kind of power supply did you have, and what do you have now? The 970, if I remember correctly, isn't too power hungry.

It was the original Dell power supply in my XPS 8700 tower. I want to say it was rated at 450-460W. It's been a few months but I remember it being right on the edge of the 970's lower recommend range. I went ahead and grabbed a 600W EVGA to be on the safe side (I'd have to look on the box to see which one. There are 2 or 3 they offer in that wattage. I got the one that was highly recommended across the board as they come from different suppliers and EVGA just puts their label on them).

EVGA has great products and great support. And if it's the 600W I'm thinking, it's a really good unit.
