Franchise free agency

Found that when I finish one season of franchise, have guys like Rodgers, Von Miller, Antonio Brown, Ben Roethlisberger in free agency. I'm confused as I know Rodgers, Miller and Brown signed huge extentions within their respective organisations. Can anybody help with that?

The CPU teams cut these players because during the "Roster Management" part of the offseason, they view the highly paid players as getting too much and all are cut. To prevent this, you will need to take control of all 32 teams (you can do this via a editor like NZA or MaddenAMP) during the two "Roster Management" sections. You can relinquish control once those parts are over.

a lot of cuts are based on age,years experience for some reason...
