Madden Roster Editor roster freezes game

Im trying to move players from a team to a custom team for the sake of franchise. I used Madden Roster Editor (MadMod X) to achieve this easily. However, when I try to play a game with this Roster, the game freezes on the loading screen: not responding, music keeps playing, cannot use alt+f4. How can I either get this file to work or use a different program to achieve the intended result?
