No matter what you must have 39 available players. 53-55 on the current roster. But if you take too many away from a position group it will crash. It will give you a chance to add in the breakdown. There is a way to make it work though if the injuries are random to a specific group and across the board. 1 here, 1 here, 1 here, etc. But not multiples in one area. Hope that helps. There may be a way if we find it on an editor (DB editor). Just my 2 cents. I always try my hardest to match the NFL season with injuries for my franchise podcast.
