Madden 08 League Types
I was looking through the files of the DB Template or Streameddata files, can't remember which. I noticed that 08 has room for several different leagues. In default roster you have current NFL, All-Time Teams, GHT, NFL Europe, Fantasy and Custom designations. Does anyone know the designations to assign teams to one of the various leagues? Instead of them being marked as custom teams, I want to move my NBA teams to an NBA League and also move the NCAA teams to an NCAA League!
Re: Madden 08 League Types
I tried that but the League and table conferences only allows for four entries each and divisions up to 32.

That's great! Where do I get the team type designations (Current, Old-time, custom, NFL Europe, etc) to assign them to the different leagues? Where does the information go for the new leagues? How do I assign a team to a specific league & division?
32 is fine. I want to add the XFL teams to the NFL Europe league designation. Add two NCAA D1 leagues, one that includes the top 32 NCAA teams. The other NCAA league will be teams will chosen by me based on my favs. And of course have a league designation for the NBA 32 teams!
So when that's done. I can load my roster, and select between NFL Current, NCAA, NBA, Custom, or NFL Europe. Then choose a team from within the group!
Thanks

Well the team types are in the TTYP field. The other ones are in, which the field names escape me right now are, DIVI, CONF and LEAG?

Here's what I got so far based on original default roster:
TTYP - Team Type
0 - Current 32 NFL teams
1 - Free Agents
2 - All-Time Teams, GHT's
3 - Fantasy Teams (Dummies, Glaciers, Deceivers, Tridents) & Hall of Fame Teams
5 - Custom Teams
7 - NFL Europe
16 - AFC, NFC (I assume these are the Pro-Bowl teams)
26 - College Combine, College All-Stars (East & West)
(SugarBuzz, Mummies or Monsters fantasy teams were not there)
CGID - Conference ID
0 - AFC Teams, including AFC Pro Bowl Team
1 - NFC Teams, including NFC Pro Bowl Team
2 - NFL Europe Teams
3 - All-Time Teams, GHT's, Fantasy Teams, HOF Teams, College Teams
LGID - League ID
0 - Current NFL
1 - NFL Europe
3 - All-Time Teams & GHT's, College Combine Team, College All-Star Teams (East & West)
DGID - Division ID
0-7: Current 32 NFL Teams
8: NFL Europe Teams
15: Custom Teams
31: All other teams on the roster.
With that info here are my questions:
1. Have you created any new, not overwrite (Team Types, League ID, Conference ID and Division ID) that Madden recognized and are playable teams?
2. How may total teams can Madden 08 have in one roster?
I get that the teams with TTYP 0 are the ones that can be used in a franchise and must have a division id 0-7. While the other TTYP teams can only be used in exhibition/play now or practice!

No because of the db limits.

That depends on the PGID limit. (Divided by 55 players will give you an estimate of the number of teams)
Another factory to consider is that madden uses 294 logos in the logo file before it reads the second set of logos on the logo file.

Madden 08 on the console was designed to use custom teams in franchise. Madden 08 pc is a port from the console therefore madden 08 pc supports custom teams which we are able to use created/custom teams on franchise files.
You could use TTYP 0 as leagues and the TGRP as teams in those leagues. The TGRP should be the same as the TTYP 0 TGRP. Say the Cowboys have a TGRP of 11 any other team associated with the Cowboys should have a TGRP of 11 also. Those other teams associated should also have their TTYP as 2.

When I opened the default roster, the TGRP is blank for all teams. I'm clear on the TTYP and TGRP. So the "Current Teams" are TGRP 11 and the All-Time and GHT's match that TGRP (makes sense). And you're right about the PS2 version using custom teams in franchise. I exported a team from NFL Head Coach into Madden 08 PS2 into a franchise!
So is the TGRP range 0-31 or 1-32? Never mind. It's 1-32 and the ones that were blank is from the latest ROJO roster that I was looking at!
That and many other reasons is why I love Madden 08 PS2 over the PC version. EA Sports just left too many feature out of the PC version! Some features are buried deep within the game code! That's why the Calhoupe Scripts work!
